Contract magazine, in partnership with Tarkett, is now accepting entries for the Inspirations Awards, which recognize a commitment to social responsibility in commercial interior architecture and design.
The Inspirations Awards recognize commercial interior architecture and design that demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility, implementing design to improve the quality of life for those in need. Winners are recognized for work completed for clients that are a worthy cause. The clients, in turn, receive a generous grant from award sponsor, Tarkett.
Eligibility
Both paid/commissioned work and pro bono work is eligible for entry. Entries do not need to be pro bono work. Manufacturers cannot enter work.
Categories
Designers can enter projects in one of two categories:
• Completed Built Projects in Commercial Interiors (any project type other than residential).
Projects must have been completed no earlier than July 1, 2018.
• Practice-Based Intiatives. These entries are cause-related initiatives that benefit a community or user group (investment of time and/or services and/or resources), recognizing a broader commitment to improve a community, rather than the design of a physical space. We highlight the creativity, innovativeness, and drive to improve the human condition realized in a variety of efforts.
Practice-Based Initiatives must have been commenced no earlier than July 1, 2018.
Awards
• The jury will award three grants to the top three projects. All grants will be awarded to the cause (the client) supported by the work.

Jury
2020 Inspirations Awards jurors include: Bethany DeLine, HDR; Tom Polucci, HOK; and Joey Shimoda, Shimoda Design Group.
Jurors will evaluate the projects based on their quality and the impact that the work and spaces have had to improve the quality of life for those in need.
Awards Publication
Honored work will be featured in Contract magazine print and digital editions, and on contractdesign.com/inspirationsawards
How to Enter
Step 1: Read the Rules page
The rules page explains the steps for entering, cost per entry, and categories.
Step 2: Create a login
Once a login is created, you can complete the rest of the entry and upload images. With your login, you may also begin an entry, and then return to complete it at a later time.
Step 3: Complete the entry form and upload images.
Step 4: Pay the entry fee
Entry fee is $100 per entry. Second entries are $50; any additional submissions are $30. There is no limit to the number of submissions. Payment is accepted with a PayPal account or with a credit or debit card.
